I would like to thank Kim Dodge for her super helpful website: Third (World) Cinema. It lists the major manifestos, influential books, and film titles that are considered to be included in the Third Cinema pantheon. I used and appreciated that site very much when I started studying about Third Cinema. Later on, as I was researching about LA Rebellion, I realized that Kim was a student of Zeinabu Irene Davis, one of LA Rebellion pioneers who studied at UCLA’s film program where Teshome Gabriel taught, and Kim’s site was created as the final project for Zeinabu’s Third World Cinema course at Univ. of California San Diego! Thus, although there are overlaps with Kim’s site (hey, the more the merrier!), with the same Sankofa spirit to know the past in order to build our future, here are the lists:
